Since we launched in 2016, we’ve been on a mission to make everyone, starting with our awesome Plumsters, financially better off People have the right intent to manage their money, but life and business get in the way and it slips their mind. That’s why we created Plum so people can manage their money effortlessly through our smart app.

We help people to automate their savings, avoid overpaying on bills, budget and provide a simple platform for them to invest, if they’d like to try and grow their money over the long-termThe social aspect of what we do is also really important to us. We’re trying to change things for the better, by helping our users overcome a confusing financial system, break through negative inertia that stops them saving and make their money work harder for them.

Specifically, here’s what we’re trying to tackle:

  • 11.5m people in the UK have less than £100 in savings

  • 90% of UK savings accounts pay less than inflation

  • £4bn lost to the loyalty penalty every year

  • 2/3 of UK adults say money stress has affected the health or wellbeing of someone they know.

In 6 years, we’ve grown from 2 co-founders sharing a rusty desk in Soho, to a brilliant, hard-working team of 165+, with offices in London, Athens, and Nicosia. Now, with more than 1.3M people already using Plum, we could use a little help with our mission and that might be where you come in!

About the Role:

We are looking for a Head of People to join us at Plum and oversee our 3 offices in London, Athens and Nicosia, and help us sustainably build the team and successfully scale our business! We doubled in size in 2022 to 170+ employees, strengthened our product offering and launched the Plum app in several countries in Europe! This role will work closely with our Head of Operations, as well as partner with the Heads of all Teams and guide them.

We need a strong leader with the right attitude who could be Plum’s culture ambassador and drive all initiatives across workplace and people operations, recruitment, employee engagement, recognition and retention, employer brand, diversity & inclusion. We need someone who is dynamic and who can switch gears when necessary and not let the ball drop, someone who can be loved and trusted by the people at Plum and make an impact by making other people successful.

What You Will Do

  • Contribute to the development of the people strategy, driving continuous improvement and ensuring the right culture moving forward.

  • Practical involvement across key People priorities: talent, performance, compensation and benefits, L&D, org design, communications and engagement, and leading the People Team.

  • Contributing to a People strategy that helps the business achieve its objectives and establishing Plum as one of the best places to work!

  • Building simple, scalable processes and policies that ensure people from all backgrounds can succeed at Plum.

  • Putting data and insights at the heart of our People operations and providing managers and leaders with the information they need to make the right business decisions.

Who You Are

  • Experience in the Tech industry as Head of People/ Director of People or another relevant role.

  • You have managed a 5+ team directly with diverse skill levels and focus, as well as based remotely

  • You have experience building strong, collaborative relationships with leaders that improve the impact of their teams in an agile, data-led culture.

  • Excellent problem solving, commercial and analytical skills to understand the complex needs of our business and implement simple solutions at scale.

  • Exceptional communication skills encompassing challenging conversations, coaching leaders and communicating initiatives across teams

  • A person with good awareness of employment legislation & policies in the UK & EU.
