As our People Manager, you'll be working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, spanning all functions including Head Office, Retail, and Production. Reporting to our People Director, you’ll play a critical part in developing and delivering initiatives for our people. You’ll have strong people skills to support our warm and friendly culture and have strong experience in HR generalism and ER, coupled with a commercial approach to the people agenda.

No two days are the same here at Vashi, so you will have the opportunity to make a real impact on our People plans and drive our People function forward, whilst working within a diverse team and fast-paced environment.

As a growing business, we ask our teams to approach their role and work location flexibly and to be agile and adaptable, wherever possible. This role is a hybrid position with a mix of working from our HQ, known as the VIC, and working from home. Most teams typically work 2 or 3 days per week from the office but occasionally this can change depending on business needs.

Here's some of what you'll do in a typical week:

  • Support & guide stakeholders to the right course of action that follows our company values and culture and works in line with UK employment legislation; maintaining your knowledge to confidently advise Managers

  • Develop effective working relationships with all key stakeholders across all levels in the business

  • Identify trends and challenges to predict risks to the business and deliver solutions to mitigate these risks

  • Support the wider people team to improve employee experience and drive our practices forward to stand out as an employer of choice

  • Line manage our People Advisor, supporting their development and ability to deliver an excellent people service to our employees

  • Assist the People Director on new initiatives and central projects whilst supporting the overarching People team strategy and agenda

  • Exercise strong analytical skills using data to develop persuasive narratives and recommendations to the leadership team

  • Update, create and deliver internal policies to support the business objectives

  • Lead on and provide expert support and advice to our employees and management team across areas including employment practices, maternity, paternity & shared parental leave, disciplinary, grievance, performance management, health, investigations etc

  • Support the People Director with all talent management and succession planning

  • Work with the wider people team to deliver across all of People services, policies and programs to foster a high-performing, diverse and inclusive environment

What We're Looking For

  • Experience within a People Manager/Business Partner role, ideally within a fast-paced culture and customer-focused environment

  • CIPD qualified or equivalent experience

  • Proven understanding and application of UK Employment law and legislation

  • Effective communication and influencing skills at a senior level - able to frame communication in a way that others will respond to

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and employees

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and deliver excellent attention to detail. With the ability to prioritise and delegate effectively.

  • Ability to oversee the workload of a junior team member and offer support when required

  • Solutions-focused, analytical and strong problem-solving skills
